  1. Botox/ Dysport:

When we make habitual facial expressions, such as smiling, frowning or squinting, our facial muscles contract and pull the skin out of its resting state. Overtime, dynamic wrinkles may result and can be the earliest sign of aging, starting in our 20s and 30s. Botox and Dysport are excellent anti-aging treatments for fine lines and dynamic wrinkles because of their versatility and ability to produce quick results. Both are derived from natural proteins produced by bacterium Clostridium botulinum. This protein works by temporarily relaxing the muscles that contribute to facial lines and wrinkles. These treatments are effective in reducing forehead wrinkles, glabellar lines, crows feet and more. Treatment only takes several minutes and is relatively painless. Patients describe the procedure to feeling a “slight pinch”. These treatments have minimal downtime, results are often visible between 3-7 days after treatment and tend to last 3 to 4 months. Repeated injections can also have a preventative effect on wrinkles by targeting the muscles, reducing muscle movement and softening unwanted lines.

  2. Dermal fillers:

Dermal fillers are used to fill in deep wrinkles and improve natural volume loss that happens as we age. With skillful injection, more youthful contours can be achieved and results are instantaneous. Common sites for dermal filler treatments include: tear troughs, smile lines (nasolabial folds), jawline, lips and cheeks. Most dermal fillers were created with the same key ingredient of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally produced in our bodies but it diminishes as we age. There are many different types of filler that are formulated to achieve different functions. Each filler is approved to be used in certain areas of the face. It is important to note that while dermal fillers can achieve remarkable facial rejuvenation, realistic goals are important. We believe in achieving an enhanced, refreshed appearance while maintaining a healthy, natural appearance without being overdone. In most patients, treatment times are less than thirty minutes and there is minimal downtime. There is little discomfort and no anesthesia is required. We do recommend avoidance of airplane travel and physical exertion for a day or so after your treatment session. Some patients experience swelling or bruising that typically results in 1- 2 weeks. We recommend treatments at least 2 weeks prior to any major events. Though fillers aren’t permanent, they do offer long-lasting natural- looking results from six months to a year.

  3. Chemical peels:

Chemical peels are one of the least invasive and most effective ways to improve the appearance of your skin. Sun exposure, acne or just simply aging, can leave your skin with an uneven tone, wrinkled or scarred. Chemical peel treatments vary based on their depth of treatment and are designed to remove the damaged outer layers of skin. This creates a smoother and more youthful appearance. Chemical peels typically require 30 minutes for treatments and we typically recommend several treatments to achieve the most optimal results. Chemical peels offer versatility and customization depending on what we are targeting to treat, ranging from very superficial, superficial to medium in depth.

Very superficial peels are great for those with sensitive skin and do not require any downtime while still leaving your skin refreshed.

Superficial peels are designed for all skin types and are effective in improving aging, photodamage and acne. Mild flaking typically occurs within 1-3 days.

Medium peels have the highest level of impact in improving skin texturing, reducing appearance of uneven skin tone and smoothing fine lines. The skin will first feel sore and tight, then likely darken and you will have significant peeling. The downtime is 7-14 days.

  4. Cyanosure ICON laser:

The Cyanosure ICON laser is cable of both Optimized Light photo-rejuvenation technology that delivers gentle pulses of intense optimized light as well as fractional laser resurfacing. It can be used to treat a wide range of conditions including sun damage, dark spots, red facial pigmentation, acne scars, stretch marks, and fine lines and wrinkles. This technology also offers the specialized “ThreeForMe” laser treatment which addresses three different skin conditions in just one session. A typical treatment requires at least three treatment sessions at one-month intervals to achieve optimal results. At your visit, your skin will be prepped and you will be given eye shields or glasses. Your provider will select the appropriate treatment protocol for your skin. The laser hand piece is typically cold and there is some minimal discomfort. Treatments take about 30 minutes. Recovery is minimal and your skin may appear pink with some minor swelling, similar to a sunburn. The areas of skin pigment will darken and flake off in a few days while the swelling gradually subsides.

  5. Microneedling:

Microneedling is a simple, safe, minimally invasive skin rejuvenation treatment that can improve acne scars, stretch marks, pore size, fine lines and wrinkles. The treatment involves rolling a device with ultra-fine needles over the treatment area, stimulating your own natural healing response. The result is improved skin texture through the formation of new collagen. Microneedling is also referred to as collagen induction therapy, because of this quality. It has gained popularity because it has minimal downtime, low risk and long-lasting results in the treatment of many skin conditions. It is suitable for all skin types and skin colors. Topical anesthesia is applied prior to the procedure but it is generally very well tolerated. There may be some redness, swelling and pinpoint bleeding during the treatment. There is no limitations following the procedure. Your skin may temporarily appear pink for up to 3 days. The number of treatment sessions varies, but most patients achieve optimal results in 4-6 sessions. Sometimes it is used combination with platelet rich plasma to enhance results.

  6. Kybella:

The active ingredient in Kybella is deoxycholic acid, a naturally occurring molecule in the body that aids in the breakdown and absorption of dietary fat. When injected into the fat beneath the chin, Kybella destroys fat cells. Once destroyed, those cells cannot store or accumulate fat, so further treatment is not expected once you reach your desired aesthetic results. Topical numbing medication is often applied prior to the treatments. The treatments are quick and there is some mild discomfort.
